Privacy, Cookie, and Use Notice
Effective date: August 5, 2026
Mission Trail PTO provides this website as a family and PTO resource for Mission Trail Middle School families, staff, and volunteers. It is intended to help share PTO information, school-related resources, calendar details, links, teacher/staff information, news, merchandise links, and volunteer opportunities in one place.
This website is operated by volunteer parents of Mission Trail PTO, an independent organization. It is not an official source of school or district information, and it is not maintained or endorsed by the School District.
PTO Use and Site Purpose
This site was created for Mission Trail PTO use and family coordination. It is not a replacement for official Olathe Public Schools systems, student records, emergency communication channels, or district-required forms.
Some content may come from public school or district sources, PTO updates, administrator-entered resources, or user-submitted profile information. Public school and district information is provided for convenience; families should verify official deadlines, policies, and district requirements through the appropriate school or district source when needed.
PTO-managed content, links, news, calendar tools, merchandise links, and volunteer signup tools are maintained for PTO and family convenience.
1. How This Site Is Intended To Be Used
This website is provided for PTO communication, school-family convenience, and community coordination. Content may include calendar events, school links, PTO updates, staff information, merchandise links, supply list links, volunteer signup opportunities, and related support resources. You are responsible for how you use information posted on the site.
2. Account and Login Data
We may support local login and social login through services such as Google, Facebook, or Apple. We do not store your Google, Facebook, or Apple password on Mission Trail PTO. We store only the minimum account relationship data needed to identify your profile and provider connection, such as provider name, provider user ID, provider email (when provided), and login timestamps.
3. Data We Store
For site security, administration, and account continuity, we may store:
- Account profile data you submit, such as name, email, phone number, preferred contact method, newsletter preference, and volunteer notification preference.
- Volunteer signup information you submit or create through the site, such as selected event slots, signup status, contact details tied to your account, and optional volunteer notes.
- Contact form submissions, if you choose to send a message through the site.
- Authentication/session records (login provider, login times, session tokens).
- Technical metadata (IP address, hostname lookup, user agent, and activity timestamps).
We do not collect or store student information.
4. Cookies
We use cookies for essential site operation, including session continuity, authentication state, and sign-in preference handling. We also use an identity cookie to recognize prior provider relationship context (Google/Facebook/local) for safer login behavior.
Choosing "Only Necessary Cookies" still allows essential operational cookies because they are required for authentication and core site functionality.
5. How Data Is Used
Your data is used to:
- Authenticate and maintain your account session.
- Protect against abuse, suspicious access, and unauthorized use.
- Support site administration, moderation, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate PTO volunteer opportunities, including showing admins who signed up for event slots.
- Send PTO news, newsletter updates, and volunteer opportunity notices when you have opted in.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We do not publicly publish private account registration fields. Volunteer signup details are visible to authorized administrators so PTO volunteer needs can be coordinated. Public-facing content is limited to information intentionally published for PTO, school-family, or community access.
7. Data Deletion Requests
Social login provider data deletion requests are handled through our provider callback workflow and internal account processing. For manual requests, contact the site administrator and include identifying account details.
8. Security and Limitations
We apply reasonable technical controls to protect stored data, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Use of this site is at your own risk.
9. Policy Updates
This notice may be updated periodically to reflect site changes, legal requirements, and operational updates. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised notice.
